Roma edge ahead in race for Man Utd outcast Memphis Depay

AS Roma have joined the battle for Manchester United attacker Memphis Depay.
The Dutch winger has failed to start a league game under Jose Mourinho this season and admits he could quit Old Trafford in search of regular action.
Calciomercato.com says Roma are leading the race for Depay's signature.
Ex-Chelsea flop Mohamed Salah is set to depart for the African Cup of Nations in January, and Luciano Spalletti is desperate to land a short-term replacement.
Depay has the same agent as Roma's Dutch stars Kevin Strootman and Thomas Vermaelen, and a loan deal is also United's preference after they shelled out £25million on him in 2015.
Juventus and Inter Milan have already made approaches for Depay, with Stoke star Xherdan Shaqiri also a target for Roma.
